One thing you will notice that as you start writing articles on a regular basis it can sometimes exhaust you for ideas that leave you with nothing to write about on your next article. There are some things you can do though to keep the ideas from drying up. Finding ideas for articles isn’t that hard if you know how and where to look.
First, make it a point to read the top blogs or websites related to your blog or website’s topic. What are they talking about? What topics are getting the most attention and comments? Once you determined which topics are currently hot in your niche, choose a topic and build your next articles based on them. Don’t regurgitate the articles from the other blogs.
It is also best that your articles should be on the same theme but it has to be written from a different take and angle. You can do this by providing your opinions on what’s already been written by others. Or you can expand on an idea of theirs.
Second, be active in online forums related to your niche and take notes on the most popular forum threads. Often, the most recent updates and developments regarding a certain niche are the top stories on forums so joining the discussions also keeps you informed on what’s going on with your niche. Online forums are very effective tools for finding ideas for articles.
Third, this happens to be one of my favorites and that is to watch a movie, surf the television and read a magazine or a book. You never know when the light bulb pops out. It’s better if the movie you’re watching or the book you’re reading is related to your niche but it doesn’t always have to. For instance, you own a website about freelance writing. Now, you are watching a let’s say Ben Affleck movie. Your next article could be titled ’7 Characteristics of Boston That Every Freelance Writer Must Have’. Be creative and learn to relate your chosen niche to just about anything.
In finding ideas for articles, you must be both resourceful and smart. Use every tool or advice you get your hands on. Most people know about the power of the internet. Nowadays, the internet is used by millions of people to do various tasks. Whether you use the internet for business, for entertainment, for gaming, and for a hundred other purposes, you surely have appreciated getting good information when you want it. And when it comes to good information, articles posted around the Web play a huge role.
If you want to become an effective writer, then here are some of the essentials that you should always keep in mind to produce not just a great piece of article but also one that serves it marketing purpose.
1. Prioritize objectives.
Whenever you write articles, you have an objective in mind. If you have several goals, make sure that you know which ones to prioritize so you do not confuse your readers. With an article, you can do a lot of things. You can sell a product or service, you can criticize, you can build reputation and you can simply provide information that would prove useful to someone. Know which one is your priority. For instance, do not oversell something when all you want is to provide basic information about a certain product. Sticking with a priority goal makes it easier to hit the target.
2. Be straightforward.
There are times when articles around the Web confuse instead of educate. This is not due to the lack of information embedded in the article but because of the fact that the author fails to go straight to the point. It helps to be straightforward and direct so that readers can get the exact information they want, thus, allowing you more space to call for action.
3. Offer something.
When it comes to online article writing, you have to offer something to the reader or else their attention will not hold. You do not have to offer freebies (but that sure helps a lot) as you can also offer useful information, news, reviews and even objective opinion. Offering them something within the article allows them to continue reading, and hopefully, to click on your links.
